Wamigo is an online hard drive that allows you to download and read files instantaneously, without reloading pages. It allows you to access a local copy of your files from any terminal – computer, smartphone, or tablet – at any time. Wamigo frees you from your computer: with a Wamigo account you can work, play, share, and stay informed on the go. At the same time, Wamigo is a content-driven site built around networks of people with similar interests. The social side of Wamigo allows communities to work on the same file simultaneously and in real time, or to socialize and share media around a common interest.
Just go to Wamigo’s home page and click on the “sign up” button. Type your email address in the designated field and choose a username. If your username is taken, a message will let you know. Pick a password (for optimal security it should include both numbers and letters and be at least six characters long).
Save your information and you’ll be officially signed up. And to personalize your account, just click on “My Account.”
Wamigo and all its services are free, with up to 20 GB of free disk space. If you need more disk space you can purchase it via PayPal by going to “My Account” and clicking on “Add disk space” in the left hand column.
Anyone with an email address can sign up for Wamigo.
Click on “My Account,” enter your old password, and then pick a new one. Click save and the change is effective immediately.
Click on “My Account,” and then on “Public Information.” Then click “upload a profile picture” and choose an image from your personal files. Only jpg, jpeg, png, or gif files are accepted, 9.5 MB or smaller.
At Wamigo, when we say free, we mean free! Our iPhone app comes free of charge along with the rest of your account. But we’ll go one better than that – when you sign up, we’ll give you 20 GB of free disk space to store your files as you please.
And not to worry if your baby pictures or your music library (or both!) take up more than 20 GB – you can easily purchase additional disk space by going to www.wamigo.com and clicking on My Account → Add disk space.
If you have a Wamigo account, you can connect to it using our iPhone application and access all of your files, videos, photos, and music, as long as your phone is online or you have synchronized files accessible offline.
Create a folder in your WamBox and add the files you’d like to access remotely. All the files in your folder will be synchronized as soon as you connect to the internet with your iPhone, and you’ll be able to use them offline from anywhere you like (in an airplane, in a tunnel, camping in the middle of nowhere…)
Currently, you can access and use image, audio, and video files.
Your storage space depends on the capacity of your iPhone and your account settings on Wamigo.
With the basic Wamigo account, you have 20 GB of free space, so as long as your iPhone has enough memory, you can access all your files from it.
Of course! Just download Wamigo’s free app for fast and easy access to your files in a few clicks.

On the right hand side of the page, below your login name, click on “My groups,” and then “+ Add a group.” A pop-up window will appear asking you to pick a name for your group.
Once your group is set up, click on its name, and a dialog box will open. Beneath the group name you’ll see “Add/Remove Contacts” and new window will open with a list of your contacts; click the names you’d like to add to your group, then click “add” and close the window.
Follow the same steps as for adding a contact, but click on “Delete Contacts” beneath the group name.
Nothing simpler: left-click on the file you’d like to send from your computer, and then hold down the mouse button and drag it to the person in your contact list to whom you’d like to send your file.
There are two ways to find sent and received files:
1) To locate files exchanged with a contact via Wamigochat, click on that contact. Beneath his or her profile picture you’ll see two tabs. Select the one labeled “All Files.” You’ll see a list of all files received from this contact. To find files you have sent to your contact, click the link labeled “Sent files,” which you’ll see just below the tabs. You’ll find an archive there of all the files you have sent to this contact.
2) For a list of all sent and received files, go to the home page and click “View.” You’ll see a set of sorting options; click on “date created” and all files will be shown in the order they were created.
The Wamigochat function is located on the right hand side of the page, beneath your login and your account tab. Wamigochat features the following: – A search function for contacts (For more information see “How to add contacts.”) – Groups: (For more information see “How do I set up a group?” / “How do I add contacts to a group?”) – A contact list – An import/invite function (For more information see “How do I import contacts?”)
Under your login, in “My Account” you’ll see a magnifying glass and a search box labeled “Find contacts.”
Type the username of the contact you are searching for; a list of potential contacts will appear. If you see the contact you’re looking for, click the + sign beside his or her username.
If the new contact isn’t immediately added to your contact list, click the Wamigo logo on the left hand side of the page to reload.
Click on the file you want to share. This will open a preview window with an image of the file and a send button. Click it for a drop-down list with the following send options: Contacts / Email / Facebook / Twitter.
Choose the send option you prefer. (E.g., click “Email” to send via email.)
If you’d like to send more than one file at once, go to the main page and check the boxes beside the files you wish to send, then click “Send” in the tab menu.
If you know the username of the contact you wish to add, enter it in the search box (labeled “Find Contacts”) located at the top of the Wamigochat function. If several members exist with similarly spelled usernames, Wamigo will show you a list of all of them. Click on the + sign beside the name of the contact you’re looking for to add him or her to your contact list.
At the bottom of the Wamigochat function (which is located on the right hand side of the main page), click on “Invite/import contacts.” A dialog box will open for you to select the platform from which you would like to import your contacts, Facebook, Twitter, Windows Live, or Google.
Once you have made your selection, enter your username and password (Wamigo will not retain this information).
Once you have selected the contact list you’d like to import, a new dialog box will open showing you contacts who already have a Wamigo account. These contacts will be added automatically; the others will be sent an invitation to join Wamigo.
